Jay Young has performed Christian and gospel music for more than 30 years.
His debut solo album, released in 2008, is titled “One More Stone.”
In 2006 he received a Grammy Award for his work on “One Voice,” a CD by Gladys Knight’s Saints Unified Voices choir. He is a featured soloist on the Choir’s CD, “A Christmas Celebration,” and has performed and toured with the Choir since its inception in 2002.
Bishop Young, as he’s known to his congregation, possesses a rare mix of power and tenderness in his rich baritone voice. He is blessed with a voice that can both sooth a troubled heart and paint an indelible picture.
Although he’s a talented singer, Bro. Young has had no formal musical training beyond a few voice lessons, singing in the occasional church choir, and many evenings around the piano with family and friends.
In addition to his love of music, Bro. Young loves spending time with his wife, Julie, and their four children. He is an attorney and an owner of the Las Vegas law firm of Marquis & Aurbach.
Whenever he’s not working, singing, playing guitar, or hanging out with the family, he enjoys hiking in the mountains of southern Nevada and southern Utah.
